Fact Sheet
- School/community club teams as well as individual
boys and girls 3-11 years are invited to join the Takoma Soccer
League. (A school or community
club consists of children from the same school/community group. Depending on the ages, a
school/community club can have multiple teams. Individual boys and girls will play on
the Takoma recreation club teams.)
- There is no fee to register and play
- The Friends of Takoma Recreation Center asks for a $20 donation per child to support
student referees
- Insurance is
provided to all registered participants—every child must register
- All games are played on Saturdays at Takoma Recreation
Center, 3rd and Van Buren Street, NW
- Every Saturday session will include ½ hour skill
development session before each game
Age
groups are as follows :
- U4 -- No games. Organized soccer play
3 and 4 year
olds
(Children ready to
play an entire game; can “play up” with the 5 and 6 year olds.)
U6
Games are 30 minutes or 2, 15 minute half’s
Born 2001 & younger 5 & 6 year olds
(At least 4
players needed per team a.k.a. 4v4)
U8
Games are 40 minutes or 2, 20 minute half’s
Born 1999 & younger 7 & 8 year olds
At least 5 players needed per team a.k.a. 5v5)
U11 -- Games are 60 minutes
or 2, 30 minute half’s
Born 1996 and younger [9-10-11]*
(More players are needed for all
teams in this age group please continue to recruit)

- Parents are responsible for transportation to all
games
- School clubs can practice at their school or at a
selected DPR site arranged by the league
- School clubs encouraged to use school colors for
uniforms—shorts, shirt, shin guards and tennis shoes
- The league can provide information on where to
purchase uniforms
- Each school/community club must have an adult point
of contact
